BuildingOnline: Services: Our Process

We've developed and refined a system we like to call The Five Ds. It represents a time-tested, proven method to take your project from sketches and ideas to finished success.

1. Discovery

Through a process of Q&A, we'll discover what you need, and we'll translate those ideas into a structure of visual communication. We'll work with you to understand your vision and define your goals, and we'll begin offering possible solutions to meet that end.
This phase will include things like client interview, research and creative discovery.

2. Definition

Once we know your goals, and have come up with possible solutions, we'll draw up the blueprints. This is where we confirm what you want, and offer a formalized plan for the entire structure. This is the place we want to hash over ideas for things like information hierarchy, product presentation, and user interaction.
This phase will include things like content outlines, site wireframes and storyboards.

3. Design

Once we understand your creative goals, we'll design a visual interface that gives your site visitors a rich, intuitive experience and effectively and clearly delivers your product message. We can start with your existing marketing materials and build a web presence that reinforces your brand, or we can create and implement a design plan from scratch.
This phase will include static designs that will indicate how the finished product will look.

4. Development

This is where we turn your completed architecture and design into a functioning web site. Our programming philosophy is simple: if you can dream it up, we can make it happen. The key, as with good design, is understanding the larger goal, and creating a structure that serves it every step of the way.
This phase will include a password-protected development site that you will have access to throughout the course of your project.

5. Delivery

You'll be working closely with us from square one, so, by the time we're ready to make your new site live, you'll have had the opportunity to test and approve every part of the project. Now we take the time to carefully review and test your site one last time, make sure that it's optimized for search engines, and then, upon your approval, we make it live, either replacing your old site, or making your new domain active.
